Toronto, Ontario
After completing my undergraduate degree at McGill, obtaining my medical degree at Dalhousie University, and my post-graduate medical training at the University of Toronto, I have have served as a transfusion medicine specialist at the University Health Network, and currently hold the title of Medical Director of the hospital's Blood Transfusion Service. In this position, I provide laboratory oversight, clinical consultation, and have a major role in research, education, and administrative activities, including oversight of the blood transfusion services of a large number of hospitals in Northern Ontario. I have served as a principal investigator on both investigator- and industry-sponsored clinical trials, and my educational activities have included national standards and guideline development, collaboration with patient-advocacy groups, and on-site projects in both Ethiopia and Rwanda.
