Dr. Elizabeth Cappello is a Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Fellow at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She will complete her Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Fellowship in June 2025 and will continue her training in Transfusion Medicine at Emory University.
She earned her B.S. in Biology from Emory University and her M.D. from Medical College of Georgia. She completed her Pediatric Residency at Eastern Virginia Medical School/Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters in 2021 and was a chief resident. She is board certified in General Pediatrics.
Dr Cappello is currently working towards her Master's in Education in the Health Professions at Johns Hopkins School of Education. Her capstone project is examining the use of a micro-curriculum as a method of educating pediatric residents in transfusion medicine basics. She will be graduating from her Master's program in May 2025. In her free time, Dr. Cappello enjoys traveling, attending live theater, and spending time with her dog, Percy.
