Dr. Otrock is the Section Head of Transfusion Medicine service at Cleveland Clinic. His research is focused on transfusion medicine, patient blood management, and hematology. His research interest started after he completed his medical education in 2003; he has worked for four years as a post-doctoral research fellow with the Division of Hematology-Oncology in the Department of Internal Medicine at American University of Beirut Medical Center (AUB-MC). His research interest continued during his Clinical Pathology residency program in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at AUB-MC. He was then granted a 1-year research scholarship to do his fellowship in MDS/Leukemia in the Department of Hematologic Oncology and Blood Disorders at Taussig Cancer Institute at Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. He continued to conduct research during his residency and fellowship training at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri. Dr. Otrock has authored over 140 peer-review scientific publications and book chapters.
