Colonel Audra L. Taylor, US Army Retired, originally from Springfield, Ohio, started on her military career with a four-year Army ROTC Scholarship at Howard University, earning her Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology in May 1994. Commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army Medical Service Corps, she began her service as a Blood Platoon Leader at Camp Carroll, Korea, within the 16th Medical Logistics Battalion.
Throughout her distinguished career, Audra has continually pursued excellence, obtaining a Master’s Degree in Health Sciences from George Washington University and achieving her Specialist in Blood Banking certification in 2006. Her diverse roles include Quality Assurance Officer, Laboratory Manager, Chief of Blood Services, Commander, Director for the Department of Defense consolidated Army/Navy Medical Laboratory Technician Program, Joint Blood Program Officer, and Director, Army Blood Program at the United States Army Medical Command.
Audra completed her military career as the Chief, Armed Services Blood Program Division at the Defense Health Agency in Falls Church, Virginia, marking the end of a distinguished chapter in Summer 2022. She has since transitioned into a position of leadership as Vice President, Blood and Tissue Operations at South Texas Blood & Tissue, a subsidiary of BioBridge Global, where she has oversight of the blood donor recruitment, blood donor collection, blood component manufacturing, reference laboratory testing, deceased donor tissue and birth tissue operations.
