Dr. Chancey Christenson is the Director of the Blood Bank and Transfusion Medicine Informatics at Mayo Clinic Florida, where he specializes in clinical pathology, transfusion medicine, and clinical informatics. Board-certified in all three disciplines, he has a deep expertise in patient blood management, platelet refractory management, complex immunohematologic workups, and blood-derived medications.

Above all, Dr. Christenson’s foremost passion is the liquid organ of blood—its complexity, its impact on patient outcomes, and its evolving role in modern medicine. A forward-thinking leader, he is also passionate about integrating cutting-edge technologies into healthcare, including AI, humanoid robotics, and augmented reality education. His work bridges the gap between traditional laboratory medicine and emerging innovations, ensuring that new technologies are effectively leveraged to enhance clinical decision-making and patient care.
