Hamilton C. Tsang, MD is an academic pathologist and transfusion medicine physician with specialized expertise in clinical informatics and database management. Dr. Tsang has utilized large databases to investigate patient blood management and improve transfusion practices. In his role as a laboratory director in the Transfusion Service Laboratory at the University of Washington, where he is an associate professor on the Clinician-Educator track, he oversees transfusion practices and provides consultations for patients with specialized transfusion needs.
Dr. Tsang has a strong interest in informatics-driven solutions to enhance the quality of the transfusion service and education at the University of Washington through technological innovation. Since 2019, he has been an active member of the AABB Information Systems Committee, serving as its liaison to the AABB Hemovigilance Committee. He is also dedicated to teaching medical students, residents, and fellows, and he has collaborated on initiatives to advance remote and virtual teaching methodologies.
