This session will focus on the recently created National Cord Blood Network, a national entity with the goal to enhance utilization of cord blood for transplantation to treat life-threatening diseases of the blood and marrow while ensuring utilization of optimal transplantation practices. The Network facilitates collaboration between existing cord blood transplant centers as well as aiding centers new to cord blood transplant to adopt cord blood as an alternative stem cell source. Experts will discuss current approaches to cord blood transplantation in adults and children, current Network activities to promote optimal transplantation practices, and planned future Network activities.

  • Review current cord blood transplant approaches and outcomes in adult and pediatric patients with hematologic malignancies
