Design/Methods: As an essential resource, blood must be prescribed, managed, stored, and transfused according to guidelines and standards to guarantee recipient safety. To ensure the security, effectiveness, and quality of services, all health care services including blood centers must implement training programs. The aim of these training programs is to improve the expertise of laboratory technologists, technicians, blood bankers, doctors and support medical personnels. In the span of 15months, DUHS blood center conducted several training sessions and implemented an annual training program for our own employees.
Results/Findings:
Results: In each of the programs described, the average score on the pre-training evaluation test was roughly 54.3%. In addition, the observations revealed a lack of updated information, non-standardization of methods, inadequate support structures, and absence of critical thinking. A noteworthy difference was demonstrated by the post training assessment, including practical competencies and turned out to be 79.3%. The blood center's team also evaluated through continuous assessment annually with an annual training plan, and, continued medical education sessions every month. The reliability of our training programs is further analyzed through internal audits. A feedback form is provided at the conclusion of each session. Conclusions: Summary /
Conclusions: Continuous training programs are essential for any healthcare service. These training sessions are essential for safe blood transfusion practices, streamline operational workflows, and increase regulatory compliance by giving healthcare professionals, laboratory employees, and support teams with the required fundamental information. These interactive learning techniques and practical approach help participants regain and apply best practices more effectively in real-time scenarios.
